Tortuga Coffee and EcoTeach.   Tortuga Coffee works closely with EcoTeach, an organization dedicated to providing ecology-oriented trips to Costa Rica, Mexico and Alaska for student groups, individuals and families.  In 2008, more than 20 EcoTeach student groups raised funds for their trip by selling Costan Rican coffee through Tortuga Coffee.   By selling organic & fair-trade certified coffee from Costa Rica, students begin to learn the importance of fair-trade and protecting our environment.  By selecting this "green" fundraiser, students, their families and friends help support the local farming communities in Costa Rica.  

EcoTeach and SEE Turtles.   EcoTeach has partnered with a new sea turtle conservation project, SEE Turtles, to offer educational presentations to schools in the region.  SEE Turtles' Director, Brad Nahill, is based outside of Portland, Oregon and will be visiting schools from Seattle (and slightly north!) to Eugene during the school year. Nahill's presentation touches on a variety of subjects from biology and ecology, to threats facing turtles, how communities around the world are protecting turtles, and how students can participate - no matter where they live.  Incorporating video, stunning photos, and personal stories, this presentation will teach kids how turtles connect the ocean to land and inspire them to become active turtle protectors.  For more information, visit:   www.seeturtles.org.

Tortuga Coffee Bulk Sales Program Overview

Our Bulk program is becoming even more popular with our groups.   Here's an overview of the program for you:

Bulk orders have a minimum of 50 bags of coffee per order.  (You may mix & match the different roasts.)

• We offer discounted shipping (UPS ground) on all bulk orders.
• Payment for all bulk orders must be made prior to shipping.
• To reduce your up front costs, we take the $4 donation off the retail price. You keep the difference from what you pay us for the coffee and what you sell it for. 
• You must complete a Washington state resale certificate upon placing your order. 

THE MATH FOR BULK ORDERS:

• Regular retail price on Sol Colibri Coffee is $11.60 - $12.50/bag
• $4.00 discount for commission; you keep the difference
• Your final cost per bag for bulk coffee is $7.60 - $8.50/bag

• The bulk price includes a donation to the EcoTeach Foundation to help with their environmental work in Costa Rica.
